Talk to the people who wrote it

The manual is free and there is nothing to sign up for. But a manual can only take you so far: it cannot look at your account, price your migration, or tell you whether the thing you are about to build is the thing you should build. That part needs a conversation.

What we are actually good for

We are engineers who build on Databricks for a living, so the useful conversations tend to be specific. A few that come up often:

• "Is this the right platform for us?" — usually answered by looking at what you have now and what it costs, and sometimes the answer is no.
• "We have a proof of concept that works. How does it become production?" — governance, cost, and the operational chapters made real.
• "Our warehouse bill is going the wrong way." — the chapters on cost and consumption are the theory; the savings are usually in your workloads.
• "We need this and do not have the people." — senior engineers who embed in your team, or a pod that owns delivery.

If your question is none of these, ask it anyway. Getting a clear answer from someone who has done it is worth more to you than a call, and worth more to us than a form fill.
